SUMMER STYLES FOR THIS SENIOR LADY!

therighthairstyles.com

I like summer, but it's too hot for
me to continue wearing my wigs.
I am learning to embrace my grey
hair. Due to my online research,
I saw hair styles that look good on
greyed- hair women!!

I have gotten skilled with using faux braiding hair to create some styles
which cover up thinning hair.  I tried
braiding grey hair but I didn't do a
good job. The hair became frizzy.
I just buy pre-braided grey hair online.
There isn't a lot of choices for grey hair
in my area.

I gel my freshly shampooed hair smooth.
I make a ponytail  on top of my head.  Videos showed that I should tie a scarf tightly around my head until my hair dries.

I purchased prebraided hair.
I secure  end of braid under my ponytail.
I wrap the braid around my ponytail to shape a bun or knot.  I wear a  headband or scarf around my head to cover up the thin areas in front of my head.  Braid(s)  can also be pinned around the head like
a headband to cover thin areas in front
or back of the head.

I have gotten compliments on my grey
hair styles. Senior women said I have given them ideas to try.

I have added examples of the faux grey braids and ponytails that I have purchased online:

EMBRACE THE GREY!

https://www.pinterest.com

I love coloring my hair dark auburn, dark burgundy, and plum brown.  I wasn't ready to embrace the grey hair yet.  I  became
a great in home colorist after I learned what brands of hair dye worked best for hair type.

My fun with coloring my hair came to a halt 2 years ago. I had a severe reaction

to the hair dye I had been using for 10 years!  I was devastated.  I wore wigs in the winter anyway to give my hair a break from coloring and styling. I didn't want to see my grey hair during the summer!

I prayed, exhaled, and calmed down.

After all, was I a vain woman? I looked
on online and watched videos for alternatives. I discovered that the current
trend was young women wearing various shades of grey hair. This was so ironic.  This old lady didn't  want  grey hair but
young ladies were having a ball wearing grey hair! This trend turned out to be
a "GOOD THING." Finding a great
selection of grey hair styles, grey wigs,
grey faux hair used to be difficult.
There are several choices now online
and beauty supply stores.

After weeks of research, I decided to  boldly wear my grey hair in various

updo styles!  My hair was still short
from last summer's haircut. Some
online videos showed me that an updo was still possible with short hair.  This
style required a lot of hair gel and faux grey hair! My hair is soft and thin so
I gel it after is dries for more texture and  volume.  J.A.S.O.N.  hair products offer
a hair gel  for all types of hair, is unisex, and contains herbs that make my hair grow.

You can purchase grey braids or braid your own using packs of  braiding hair.

discovered that braided hair should be kept in a grey hair net or silk scarf to deter it getting frizzy.

Here are some hairsyles I have tried:

THE ESSENCE OF PERFUME OILS!

I used to sacrifice big money to buy the latest designer perfume/cologne.  That
is, until I wised up.

I saw my long lost cousin a few years ago. We were catching up on the happenings in our lives.  He said he was making money selling wholesale designer body oils. He said that the oils smell just like a version of popular costly colognes and perfumes found in department stores.  He explained that I was paying for a pretty bottle, catchy name, and very little fragrance. His company only uses pure concentrated perfume oils. Only a dab of this perfume oil is needed and it lasts a long time.

GENERIC GUIDE TO  PERFUME

Eau de Toilette 5-15% aromatic fragrance
Parfum 15-40% aromatic fragrance
Eau de Parfum- 15-20% aromatic fragrance
Cologne 2-6%  pure perfume concentrate
Eau de Cologne 2-5% aromatic fragrance
Perfume 15-40% aromatic fragrance

Note: The amount of aromatic compound, water,
essential oil, and alcohol varies depending on the perfume company. The cost depends on the alcohol content.

I  was intrigued by his information about perfume oils. I  told him to set me up. My cousin shipped me a kit of 5 popular perfume oils in dark brown glass bottles, 1-ounce clear glass bottles,
1/32 ounce clear glass vials.  I was on maternity leave,  so I decided to have perfume parties at my friend's homes.  This turned out to be a lucrative job to
do from home. I gave the job up after
I returned to work. I was too busy to handle a full-time job, housework, husband, and two small children.

I still use perfume oils today. I love them because I save money and get plenty of compliments. I just apply dab behind my ears and on my wrists in the morning. These designer oils are concentrated so the scent lasts all day.

I go to the library and look at fashion magazines to see what the latest
designer perfumes are. Some of the magazines even have a sample insert
with the ad.  I write the name down if
I like the scent. I also test new scents
at departments stores since they have
a counter with sample bottles of popular colognes and perfumes.  I try new scents but I usually wear the ones I get the most compliments on.  My faves so far are Opium, Black Orchid, Oriental Noir,
and Realm.

I also make my own perfume body lotion.
I add a few drops of my fave oil to baby lotion. I purchase cute mini bottles from a dollar store to put the lotion in. I make a label and keep the perfume lotions on
a tray in my bathroom.
