https://crazylittleprojects.com/ I finally finished my Christmas Projects last week. I watched several Christmas craft videos online. Most of them got their supplies were purchased from Dollar stores. I was happy because these supplies were cheap and easy to find. There were several ladies making lanterns. This was intriguing to me because I collect lanterns. I never thought I could make my own lantern. I was able to come up with my own design. My local Dollar store had everything I needed for this project. I decided to make a purple lantern because I have purple ornaments on my Christmas tree. Here is my lantern: The top of the lantern has a swag made with a purple bow, purple flowers, and shiny purple bulbs. I painted plain 12 inch rulers purple. I added a scene made from a mini white church and mini white glitter trees in the center. This year the Christmas trend seemed to be black and white tree trimmings and ornaments. Here are the Black & White Wreaths t

I love to cook and bake. However, I do this less often now. My sons have moved on and I am a widow. I have no one to cook for but myself most of the time. My friends and I used to take turns treating each other to brunch once a month. We decided to stop doing this after COVI-19 hit our state. I am no longer meeting my friends to eat out at restaurants. We are getting take out or home delivery when we don't want to cook. I am staying home more and only run errands twice a week. I have more time to cook and bake my meals. I have saved a lot of money by cooking at home. So there is at least one positive result from the Virus. The second one is that I have remained Virus free by staying at home more. My family decided to not travel to my Mom's house for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners this year. I will be cooking Holiday dinners for my two sons though. I plan to cook plenty so they can take leftovers home. I noticed recently that my steak knife was du

https://www.walmart.com/ I have been collecting lanterns for several years. My son gave me a beautiful one for Mother's Day 10 years ago. It was silver with a stained glass pattern. I displayed it on a table on my porch. I loved to see the sun shine through the stained glass. This gift peaked my interest in lanterns. I soon discovered that there were many lantern designs. I bought most of my lanterns during after Christmas sales. I even found a lantern with solar lights. It has been glowing at night for the past three years I was delighted to discover that there are people on YouTube making their own lanterns. Some of them used picture frames and painters sticks. I found a lot of picture frames during my trip to a dollar store. There were no painter's sticks available. I decided to use wood rulers instead. I spent a whole day watching DIY lantern videos. I eventually figured out how I wanted to design my own lanterns. I painted my wood rule

SENIOR LADY LOVES GAMES!

https://playingcarddecks.com/ I used to do word search puzzles at my part-time job in college. I got bored with that so, I started doing crossword puzzles. I never did progress to doing New York Times crossword puzzles. I started playing games on AARP's "Staying Sharp" after I joined several years ago. Retirement and "Staying at Home" during the Pandemic have afforded me with plenty of time for playing games. I read an article that said, Seniors should play games daily to ward off Dementia and Alzheimers. Therefore, I try to play some type of game or do a puzzle daily. I have downloaded several game apps on my tablet and cell phone. I do limit the hours I play games to avoid becoming addicted or anti-social. I recently decided to do a group for Seniors on Facebook. It is called: SENIOR PEEPS LOVE GAMES! https://www.facebook.com/groups/657322128263537 Peeps are like-minded friends who enjoy doing the same activities. I am inviting my blog and F

https://heritageherald.com/ I grew up in a small town and we had a one-man taxi service. Shopping malls were non-existent. My family didn't even own a car. I fought boredom by listening to the radio and watching movies. My dad agreed to put a small black and white TV in the "girls room" provided we promised to cut it off at bedtime. Of course, we would sneak and watch TV when we were supposed to be sleeping!! My favorite actresses were Susan Hayward, Lee Remick, Kim Novak, Lana Turner, and Lee Grant. Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, and Elizabeth Taylor were good actresses too. I'm showing my age because I watched these ladies in black and white movies. I didn't have time for a lot of movie watching when I was a wife and mother with two sons. I would go to the movie theatres sometime. However, it was only to take my sons to kiddie movies. I started watching movies again after the "Stay At Home " mandate was issued due to the COVID-19 virus.
