I have been collecting lanterns for

several years.  My son gave me a beautiful one for Mother's Day

10 years ago. It was silver with

a stained glass pattern.  I displayed

it on a table on my porch. I loved to 

see the sun shine through the stained glass. This gift peaked my interest in lanterns. I soon discovered that there were many lantern designs. 

I bought most of my lanterns 

during after Christmas sales. 

I even found a lantern with

solar lights. It has  been glowing

at night for the past three years







I was delighted to discover that 

there are people  on YouTube 

making their own lanterns. 

Some of them used picture 

frames and painters sticks. 

I found a lot of  picture frames

during my trip to a dollar store. 

 There were no painter's sticks 

available. I decided to use 

wood rulers instead.






I spent a whole day watching

DIY lantern videos. I eventually

figured out how I wanted to design

my own lanterns.  I painted my wood

rulers white, added a poinsettia

swag and a mini glass angel to

my DIY Christmas lantern.



                                                                           

I decided to make a second lantern

as a Christmas gift for one of my friends.  I chose small elegant silver

picture frames.  I added a silver

poinsettia swag and a small

Christmas tree surrounded by

silver garland to this lantern.

The silver lantern looks great!!





I  am really motivated now and plan 

to make a purple lantern for my porch next! This will be part of my Christmas decor!

Ah, the Sixties, when the ponytail was a style that all of us wore often.The ponytail has been updated and revamped many times. RAINWATER MAKES IT GROW!

I have been gardening for over 20 years. I'll admit I learned some secrets through trial and error. My neighbor had a large garden in his backyard. Some years he had a very good yield. He would muddle over why his yield each year wasn't  consistent. I finally figured out why his yield  was inconsistent. God's rainwater had to be plentiful in order for me to have a great yield  in my flower and vegetable garden. My yield was poor when there was a summer drought. No amount of city water from my garden  hose improved my yield. Organic soil and organic fertilizer didn't guarantee that I would have a bounty of flowers and vegetables. The combination of lots of  rain water, organic soil and organic  fertilizer boosted my yield. My state hasn't experienced a  drought  this summer. I love wearing jeans. They are  more enjoyable when they fit well. They flatter your figure. I am very envious when I see  a classy senior lady looking good in her denim outfit. I  have seen that crisp white  shirt, flattering jeans and a nice pair of boots. I was inspired to put more effort  into my attire after I saw a jeans show on Rachel Ray show.  Her guest explained that you have to find the correct jeans for your  body type.  I know they make  skinny jeans to fit every woman, but I must pass on this style.
