SENIOR WOMEN ACCESSORY, VINTAGE CHOKERS

I never gave a thought about necklaces or
chokers when I was younger. My image in
my mirror showed me that the neck aged
long with my face. Now that I am getting
older, I pay more attention to my features
and body image. I have started  watching
more fashion TV since I have retired. Most
of the content on Fashion TV seems cater
to young women.  I don't "hate" because
I know some companies concentrate on
marketing to the young because a lot of
them spend lots of money and want to be
"fashionistas."
I developed this blog so that I can focus
on fashion and personal issues for Senior
Women. A lot of the women that I know
are 40 plus. They said they do not like
the way their neck area looks. They are
wanting to wear cover-ups.The cover ups
consist of scarves, dickies, turtleneck tops,
necklaces, and chokers.

I wore lots of turtleneck sweaters and tops
until I went through menopause.  I would
break out in a sweat when I even looked at
one. The hot flashes are gone now but just
touching a turtleneck tops brings flashbacks!

I prefer chokers for my cover-up.They make
very good craft projects. They can be bought
for reasonable  prices at department stores
and online too.

I am featuring all types of chokers. They will
range from vintage styles to instructions for
making your own (DIY).

SENIOR WOMEN LOOKING GOOD, HAIR CARE

I am at the age that I still want to look my best but not look like I am in denial.  There is nothing more pathetic than an older woman  wearing make up,
hair styles, and clothing  that belong on a 20 year old.

I still color my hair and figure I'll be ready to stop when I am in my 70s.  I have to be careful though.  The texture of your hair and condition of your scalp changes as you get older.  This may be caused by  diabetes, allergies, or thyroid issues.  Most of my

hair is grey so, I had to switch to permanent hair color.  I develop a new allergy every few months; therefore, I have to do the hair color allergy test
every time I color.

I no longer use shampoo with sulfates and other harmful preservatives. I do a lot if DIY scalp oils

since I have dry scalp issues. The two ingredient
scalp oil that has moisturizers is a must.

I am listing videos and web sites with information about hair care for senior women.  I'll give recipes
for DIY hair treatments.

SENIOR WOMEN CAN WEAR PONYTAILS

Ah, the Sixties, when the ponytail was a style that
all of us wore often. The ponytail has been updated and revamped many times. One thing for sure this style will always be around.  It is versatile and can used to look classy for evening out or casual on a "Bad Hair Day".

The question for the senior lady is when style of
ponytail is appropriate.  We do not want to look
like a young girl or a teenager. I have seen older women that wear ponytails on every occasion. I
would hate to see a senior lady at a funeral or a
black tie affair with a messy ponytail held by a
rubber band! Some styles of ponys are meant
to be casual.  Here are some ponys that look
alright for a classy senior lady:
