I ATE GMO FOOD!

Image
http://www.foodinsight.org If  my friends asked me if I ate GMO  foods,  I would tell them, "A bsolutely not!"  Well,  I did eat GMO food by  accident! I got lazy  and stopped  reading  the labels on my food  at the grocery store. One  day I was  rinsing  my cans for the recycle bin.  I  noticed some  letters in small print  on the side of the  can.   It mentioned that contents may have been  genetically  altered. I was alarmed because  I had  been trying to indulge in healthier eating  habits.  I have not become so picky  that I have stopped using canned  vegetables.  Some vegetables in the can are of good quality. Organic and  lower  sodium canned veggies are  available now.  https://www.edenfoods.com Some of the  snack food packages  I was putting in my  recycle bin had a note saying it contained GMO  contents!  I am too busy to cook  everything from  scratch. I started  reading my labels again. But thi

OLD FOLKS SECRETS FROM THE KITCHEN!

https://www.huffingtonpost.com I try to keep my bathroom and bedroom stocked  with  my favorite toiletries.  I'm not hung up on brand names and buy house brand items if the quality is good. There have been times when I ran out of these items and it wasn't convenient to run to the store.   I remember my mom using things from the kitchen until she could get to the store. I swore I'd never do this when I became and wife and mother. I can still hear my mother warn, "Never say what you won't do!"  I discovered that using things from the kitchen can save the day when you are in a hurry. Here are some items I used from my kitchen as part of my health and beauty regimen when in a pinch. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com OLIVE OIL I USED IT WHEN I RAN OUT OF MY FAVE BODY LOTION. I USED IT FOR HOT OIL TREATMENT FOR MY HAIR & SCALP. I'VE TAKEN A TEASPOON OF IT TO AID IN DIGESTION. I USED IT TO SOOTHE MY SCALP AFTER  GETTING  B

STYLING SENIOR WOMEN #2, WINTERIZE!

All-free-download.com I try not to become a hermit during the winter.  Cold  weather doesn't have to be my enemy. I  don't have  to wear ugly toboggan hats and  bulky coats in order  to look good. It takes  some effort to find fashionable  winter clothing  if you are not young and petite! I love sweaters but you have to be savvy to find  sweaters  that don't look like they came out of  your  grandmama's closet. Here are some images of winter outerwear that  I thought looked  fashionable for dynamic  senior women: WINTER HATS I've heard so many negative comments from  men  when they see women in toboggan hats  and  other bulky  winter hats.  I am an  independen t  liberated senior woman.  I don't dress just to "catch a man". But I  do like male companions and don't want to run them away because I look  like an "Abominable Snowman!" I try to make sure I have earrings

STYLING SENIOR WOMEN, HAIR

https://www.essence.com I  don't like to make New Year's Resolutions. I try to improve my way of doing things all year long. I'm still getting used to going grey. My plans were to keep plum or dark auburn hair color in my hair forever. I figured I'd be ready to look at my grey hair by then. Well, any mature (old) person will tell you life doesn't always go as planned. I developed an allergy to hair color. I wasn't ready to give up so, I tried different brands which said no harsh chemicals like ammonia. I still itched, so I tried organic hair color & henna sold at health food stores. My grey was so stubborn that it didn't work. My hair was still totally grey after I rinsed the hair color out. Therefore, semi-permanent or temporary hair color was not feasible. I was frustrated but not depressed about my situation. Wigs are "ok" and I like wearing them in the winter. I'm too hot natured to wear wigs during the spring an
