I try not to become a hermit during the winter. 
Cold weather doesn't have to be my enemy. I 
don't have to wear ugly toboggan hats and 
bulky coats in order to look good. It takes 
some effort to find fashionable winter clothing 

 if you are not young and petite!


I love sweaters but you have to be savvy to find 
sweaters that don't look like they came out of 
your grandmama's closet.

WINTER HATS




I've heard so many negative comments from 

 men when they see women in toboggan hats 

 and other bulky winter hats. I am an 

 independent liberated senior woman. 
I don't dress just to "catch a man". But I 
do like male companions and

 don't want to run them away because I look 

 like an "Abominable Snowman!"
I try to make sure I have earrings and lipstick 

 on when I wear a winter hat on my head. This 

 is the best I can do, if it's a windy cold day 

 below 40 degrees. I'm no longer willing
to get sick in order to look cute or fashionable!

I have been gardening for over 20 years. I'll admit I learned some secrets through trial and error. My neighbor had a large garden in his backyard. Some years he had a very good yield. He would muddle over why his yield each year wasn't  consistent. I finally figured out why his yield  was inconsistent. Ah, the Sixties, when the ponytail was a style that all of us wore often.The ponytail has been updated and revamped many times. One thing for sure this style will always be around.  It is versatile and can used to look classy for evening out or casual on a "Bad Hair Day".   The question for the senior lady is when style of ponytail is appropriate.  We do not want to look like a young girl or a teenager. I have seen older women that wear ponytails on every occasion. I would hate to see a senior lady at a funeral or a black tie affair with a messy ponytail held by a rubber band! I love wearing jeans. They are  more enjoyable when they fit well. They flatter your figure. I am very envious when I see  a classy senior lady looking good in her denim outfit. I  have seen that crisp white  shirt, flattering jeans and a nice pair of boots. I was inspired to put more effort  into my attire after I saw a jeans show on Rachel Ray show.  Her guest explained that you have to find the correct jeans for your  body type.  I know they make  skinny jeans to fit every woman, but I must pass on this style.
