I JUST WANT TO BE COOL!

Tokkoro.com

It has been too hot this summer!
The temperature has soared past ninety for the past 2 weeks.
My container gardens are flourishing, Thank God! They love the sun and heat if I keep them watered twice a day!
I am loving my air conditioner so,
I get back home from running errands as so as possible.

This hot weather made me recall an argument me and my mom have had for years.  Which is cooler in the summer dresses or shorts?

I say it depends! The fabric, color,
and style of the dress is important.
The dress must be made from cotton gauze,  rayon, or cotton blend fabric.
I say yes, dresses are cooler. I know
the crinkle gauze dress has a wrinkled look. But the dresses are dainty and feminine so I overlook the crinkles.
A lot of my friends like linen but I don't. It's hard to keep from looking like a rumpled mess. I don't like to iron clothes.  Linen clothes  require some touch up if you want a crisp look. Linen fabric has improved some since you can buy linen blends now . But once I sat down there was still crease in the middle.

My summer dresses must be collar free,  v-neck with short or cap sleeves. I am past the age for mini or over the knee dresses. I usually wear midi length.  I learned the hard way that the color of the fabric does matter.
My mom said don't wear dark colors in the summer. I thought she was just old fashioned. I wore a black dress to my son's outdoor graduation and almost passed out.  So Mom knew best!

I wear pastel-colored cotton blend long pants to church when the temperature is below ninety.

Mom and I  have both agree that capri pants are a dream come true. We wear them to church tea parties and to eat out.  Both of us are glad that they seem to a fashion trend that is here to stay!
