SENIOR LADY: STARTING CHRISTMAS DIY GIFTS!

The month of October is usually when

I start looking for ideas for my DIY gifts

for Christmas. I love to combine DIY gifts

of love and store bought gifts for my friends

and family. I was searching online stores and

reviewing craft videos. My craft must be pretty,

inexpensive and require just a few steps.  I find

that discount stores have a great selection of

seasonal craft making items. However, they

must be purchased as soon as they hit the

shelf. These items sell out quickly, so I

buy them before  the Christmas season

 arrives. Some stores don't replenish

seasonal items once they are sold out.

I saw cute Christmas crafts  using plain

unfinished crafts sticks. I suddenly recalled

doing an Easter craft using them 10 years ago.

My friends and family still have the mini scripture

plaques hanging on their walls. Making Christmas

gifts using the crafts sticks seemed to be great idea.

I even found a store that sold multicolored craft

sticks. I also visited a nearby Thrift Store. I was blessed

to find a large basket full of clearance tagged mini

Christmas craft decorations. There will be endless

Christmas crafts I can make. I can combine items in

my basket of unused Christmas craft decorations.

ASSEMBLING FENCE PROJECT!

INSTRUCTIONS:

Remove 10 sticks from pack of craft sticks.

Glue 8 crafts sticks side by side on cardboard.

( This will be your fence) Tip: Apply glue in zigzag

pattern while holding  sticks down with hand as

they are being glued together.

Break a craft stick in half. Smooth rough edges of

sticks with emery board. Use them to form triangle

on top of fence. Glue red gems on triangle.

Next, glue a craft stick near bottom of fence.

While sticks are drying, assemble snowman.

Remove 3 pompoms from pack. Glue the 3 pom

poms on top of each other to make snowman.

Use felt parts from Snowman Kit to add eyes, scarf,

nose, arms, & hat. Tip: Using kit was easier than

buying sheets of felt.  I preferred a  red hat so,

I made it using piece of red chenille stem. I didn't use

 arms in kit.

Remove wood base from mini tree. Cut small

square piece from card board ( cover for tree

bottom). Add mini red gems to cover piece. Glue

cover piece to bottom of tree.  Add a red mini bow

 to top of the tree.

Add red heart and white heart:

Be sure to over lap red heart on

top of white heart. Next glue hearts

in center of fence.  Can add tiny

red heart in center of white heart.

Add snowman to left side of fence. Press

down back of tree flat. Glue tree on right

side of stick attached to the fence.

Sprinkle snow on fence & tree after glue

applied. Let snow dry. Shake off excess.

Fence hanger: Fold chenille stem in half.

Twist ends together. Turn fence over. Glue

hanger on the  back, in center area.
