SENIOR LADY: FALL WREATH PROJECT!

The trees in the woods, in front of my house, are starting to change colors.
I sit on my porch every afternoon. I'm
trying to determine how much foliage
has turned orange, yellow, or red.

Watching the foliage colors has inspired
me to make a fall wreath. I visited my
local Dollar Store to get ideas. A pumpkin
shaped wire wreath required too many
items and would be time consuming. I chose to repurpose a round door sign.

FALL WREATH PROJECT:

ITEMS NEEDED:

Unfinished Round Wood Door Sign
with Jute Hanger

1 Package Fall Maple  Leaves
( orange, red, yellow)

1 Mini Mum Stem, yellow

1 Faux Red Bittersweet Stem

1 Faux Orange Bittersweet Stem

1 ( 2 count ) Package (4 inch) Bows
(mini orange pumpkin print\ white background)

1 Package Glitter
Orange Mini Pumpkin Picks

1 Bottle acrylic paint, Cantaloupe

1 Bottle acrylic paint, Deep Brown

Tools:

Wire cutters

Paper plate, for mixing paint

Paint brush

Sponge brush

Old Newspaper or Drop Cloth

Scissors

Glue gun & Glue Sticks

Tape

DIRECTIONS:

(READ DIRECTIONS BEFORE STARTING

PROJECT)

Remove tag from rope hanger.  Lay down
old cloth or paper to protect floor. Use paint brush to mix dolliops of brown
& cantaloupe paint until it changes to
peach/apricot shade.

Use sponge brush to paint one side
of the door sign. Set aside & let
dry completely.

Remove 2 bows, 7 pumpkins, leaves (7 yellow, 7 red, &  7 orange) from packages. Remove wood picks from pumpkins. Also use wire cutters to cut flowers, 7 inches each, from green stems.

Arrange flowers ( see finished wreath for design idea).  Secure  ends of arranged bundle with tape. Glue arranged flowers in middle of painted door sign.

Glue one bow on left and right side of
floral arrangement. (Make Sure Tail Ends
of Bows Hide Taped Flowers!!!!)

Glue a row each, of yellow, orange, & red leaves underneath the bows. Make sure
rows of leaves over lap ( See image
of finished wreath!!). Let the red leaves on the bottom extend past bottom portion
of  wreath ( see image of finished wreath).  Glue pumpkins in a row on top
of red leaves. Space them evenly.

Now wreath ready to hang on front door.

TIPS:

**Paint both sides of wood sign, if desired.
The sign I bought had glued designs on
one side.

**Use any fall colored paint on the
wood sign. I only had cantaloupe
color on hand.

**Any mini faux fall colored pumpkins
are fine. Only glitter pumpkins @
my store.
