PENCIL CACTUS IN BUCKETS

This yard full of blooms has low maintenance 

plants. The Hostas, Canna Lilies, Yellow Day

Lilies are perennials.  I let Nature provide

 water and nutrients to these plants.

 Unfortunately, these plants turn an ugly

 brown color by the time the  first frost hits

 them. This brown foliage will be  cut down

 near the roots of each plant.  This debris

 will be  carried away so the  yard won't look

 too bad during winter months.


The Pencil Cactus plants are succulents .

They aren't frost tolerant. They usually 

grow up to 4 feet during the summer.

 I don't have room for these plants.  

I keep them outside.  I've tried to cover

 them  with frost cloth. However,  hard

 frost temps below 25 degrees, will

 still damage them. Only about 25% of my 

Pencil Cactus plant survives. I love this plant

 and don't buying a new cactus every spring.

 I just add the new cactus stems in the bucket

 with old survivors.


The end of the summer is near. Although, 

I don't celebrate Christmas in July, I have

 visions of red and white decorations.

I love wearing jeans. They are  more enjoyable when they fit well. They flatter your figure. I am very envious when I see  a classy senior lady looking good in her denim outfit. I  have seen that crisp white  shirt, flattering jeans and a nice pair of boots. I was inspired to put more effort  into my attire after I saw a jeans show on Rachel Ray show.  Her guest explained that you have to find the correct jeans for your  body type.  I know they make  skinny jeans to fit every woman, but I must pass on this style.
