SENIOR LADY: SUCCULENT DISPLAY PROJECT!

I have been collecting succulents for many years.

I believed the hype that said they were easy to grow.

I have purchased several online and from plant

nurseries.  I have bought succulent cuttings sold

in groups of ten. Only five of them survived. I'll

admit I have been guilty of over watering and

under watering succulents. Finally came up with

my failsafe method of keeping them alive. I began

using a mini spray bottle of purified water for

watering them.  I would never run water on

them until the water drains out the bottom

of the planter. I saw this advice on a  video.

I'll stick with the method that works for me.

I tried a DIY succulent display using a white

kitchen colander. The succulents have survived

for six months using the spray bottle method.

I recently saw a good price for Haworthia  succulents,

online. Here are the details for my display with the

 Haworthia succulents:

NEED:

Haworthia Succulent Collection, 3 plants:

2 Inch Pots

Plastic Snack Bowl with Lids, 6-PC:

4.5 Inch W x 4 Inch H

2 Rhinestone Mesh Jewel Ribbon Spools:

9 feet, 3\4 Inch x 108 Inch

Succulent Soil ( No Image)

TOOLS:

Glue Gun with Glue Sticks

Scissors

Wood Burning Tool

INSTRUCTIONS:

Heat up wood burning tool. Open up pack of snack

bowls and remove three bowls. Make three holes in

the bottom of each of the bowls ( for drainage).

NOTE: Be careful when using this tool. It's very hot,

so unplug immediately and let cool in a safe area.

Heat up the glue gun. Use the hot glue to make 3 rows

of the rhinestone jewel mesh ribbon, 12 inches long,

around each bowl. Let glue cool and gems set in place

before handling the bowls.

Remove succulents from their pots. Fill each bowl

with soil, then insert the plants. Use the bowl lids

as a pot saucer.

Now your succulents are ready to display on a

table as a vignette centerpiece.  I will add my three

plants among my other plants. They make a  pretty

addition to my plant table.

TIPS:

** If wood burning tool not available,
use tip of your glue gun to make holes
in your bowls.

** If Succulent Soil not available, use
regular potting soil with a little sand
or  Perlite added to the soil.

** These clear bowls can be embellished
with any color gem stickers. Yarn, craft
cord, & jute great choices too.

** Any small succulent\ cactus  should
fit inside these bowls.
