SENIOR LADY: CLASSIC STYLE UPDATES!

Image
I am a Senior lady who like to dress nice.  I like  to be  fashionable but never flashy  or gaudy. The styles  I wear are classic  and somewhat trendy. That doesn't  mean I follow the latest clothing trends  of  twenty-year-old ladies! I have been retired for  a while. I no longer  need to wear business casual clothing.   I like casual clothes like  t-shirts and jeans  during the week.  I like to wear relaxed fit clothing. I am short in statue so; long  baggy t-shirts and shirts don't fit well.   They make me look sloppy and dowdy. I was recently shopping at a discount store  that had closeouts on name brand pocket  t-shirts. They were marked down less than  three dollars!  I bought the shirts in several  colors. However, when I tried them on,  they were very long. I didn't feel like  doing alterations like sewing or hemming.  I remembered a style I saw ...

SENIOR LADY: SUPER BOWL SNACKS TRY-OUTS!

Image
I have never been a sports fanatic. I did enjoy basketball  during my college days.  My husband and one of my sons  enjoy watching football and basketball games on T.V. I must prepare myself for a lot of noise during the game. on Super  Bowl Sunday.  They yell and jump around all night. I do watch the half- time festivities  with  them.  I treat the guys to finger foods and appetizers on Super Bowl Sunday. It's my way of getting out of preparing Sunday's full course meals. I try to add a few new appetizers each  year.  This year I'm trying Rotel Dip and Bacon Wrapped  Hot Dogs. BACON WRAPPED HOT DOGS: * I used half of recipe  Need: 1 Pound bacon 1 Pound beef hot dogs Brown sugar, to taste Cayenne pepper ( optional) Toothpicks DIRECTIONS: Cut hot dogs into thirds. SENIOR LADY: SPECIAL VALENTINE'S DAY! PART #2

Image
Most people who have loved ones find Valentine's Day a challenge.  They want to find a unique gift  to  show a lot  of time was spent  choosing the perfect  gift(s). This  can demonstrate how much  they love  that special someone. I love to indulge in aromatherapy using  diffuser oils, incense and candles.   Especially,  on Valentine's Day. Romantic  smells in  the room causes me to feel elated  and happy. I have to be careful when purchasing items for aromatherapy.  Some scents  and smells  gives  me a migraine or  an allergic reaction.  I must test  unfamiliar smells  or scents  before  I commit to purchasing a lot of incense, diffuser oils, and  candles. The stores I shopped at had displays of  oils  and  candles labeled. "Romantic." Here are some of the romantic scented  candles and oils  that I purchased for  Val...

Most people who have loved ones find Valentine's Day a challenge.  They want to find a unique gift  to  show a lot  of time was spent  choosing the perfect  gift(s). This  can demonstrate how much  they love  that special someone. My girlfriends and I are widows.  We haven't  found  that special someone yet.  We are in no  rush to locate  "HIM".  This situation doesn't  keep us from celebrating Valentine's Day.  We  meet for lunch and drink coffee or  wine.  We eat our favorite  meal and feast  on our favorite chocolate desserts.  They  love to wear red when we meet for lunch.  I love  to wear purple t-shirts with hearts  or  the word "love" displayed  on it.  I make a Valentine's Wreath each year.  Last year  I  challenged myself  to use purple  and red colors  on  my wreath. Here is the...
