I have always loved polished fingernails. 
One of my ways of winding down is 
doing my nails every Saturday night. 
I used to pay money to have my nails
done at hair salons. I got tired of loosing 
glued on nails and getting fill-ins.
My nails grew fast and getting weekly 
fill-ins were not an option. I finally 
wised up and started having the nail 
tech paint nails in primary colors. 
These colors of nail polish were easy 
to find at discount stores. I was able 
to buy the nail polish and do my own
fill-ins.

I would get lots of compliments when
I did my own nails. Therefore, I started doing my own manicures and painting
my own nails. 

I have a large basket which holds about
20 bottles of pretty nail polish. I love 
to use nail glitter as my top coat.
I prefer to use acrylic nail polish. 
If my nails get too soft from dish 
washing or housecleaning I use
an "old school" nail hardener to
strengthen them.

Nail polish artwork can be simple or 
elaborate. There are tools available
to help me achieve professional looking
nail designs. I use nail stickers and
polka dots to add flare to my nails.
I dab nail glitter over my nail designs
to make them last longer.

I love wearing two or three nail polish
shades. This looks pretty and the color 
combinations are endless. I let my mood 
dictate what colors I choose. I feel I can 
paint my nails any "FUNKY" color 
I desire. Being a  senior lady should 
not be an issue!

NOTE: PLEASE EXCUSE SYSTEM PROBLEM  WITH THE FONTS!  I am retired and have plenty of time on my hands. I hate to admit that I didn't I pay attention to the needs of others when I was a young mother and wife.  I  devoted most of my time on caring  for  my husband and children.   The Bible tells  me to show love to my brethen. This year, I'm  am trying to be more obedient. I plan to show more compassion to others . I had noticed  that my Senior Lady friends  who had lost their husbands might have been dealing  with loneliness. Some of them had grown children that didn't  have the time to visit very often. SENIOR LADY: STARTING CHRISTMAS DIY GIFTS!

   The month of October is usually when I start looking for ideas for my DIY gift s for Christmas.  I love to combine DIY gifts  of love and store  bought gifts for my friends  and family. I was searching online stores and reviewing craft videos. My craft must be pretty,  inexpensive  and require just a few steps.  I find  that d iscount stores have a great selection of seasonal craft making items. However, they must be purchased  as soon as they hit the  shelf. These  items sell out  quickly, so I   buy them before  the Christmas season  arrives.  Some stores don't  replenish seasonal items once they are sold out. I saw cute Christmas crafts  using plain unfinished crafts sticks. I suddenly recalled doing an Easter craft using them 10 years ago.
