SENIOR LADY: VALENTINE'S DAY TREES!
I usually visit my local Dollar Store two or three
times a month. Sometimes I am looking for
inspiration for my next project. I was strolling
up and down several aisles when I noticed that
the store had just put their new Valentine's Day
merchandise on display. One of the shelves had
mini floral cones on it. I immediately began to
smile. An idea came to mind! A Valentine's Day
centerpiece could be made with these cones.
VALENTINE'S DAY TREES CENTERPIECE
NEED:
3-2.9 inch x 6.9 inch floral foam cones
9 ft. Wire Mauve Tinsel Garland
25 ft Wire Purple Tinsel Garland
Red Rose Petals, 300 PCS Count
Tools:
Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
VALENTINE TREE #1:
Remove plastic covering from the cone.
Apply purple crayon all over the cone
(Make sure cone is completely covered).
Make small circle with the end of the
Mauve colored tinsel. Glue it on the top
of the cone. Make circle of glue around
side of the cone. Wrap the rest of the
tinsel around the entire cone. Press
the tinsel into hot glue as you continue
wrapping the cone. Make sure each row
of tinsel is close together. The loose hearts
on the tinsel, can be used to cover up any
gaps on the cone. I added a purple rose on
top of the tree.
VALENTINE TREE #2:
Don't remove plastic from cone. The
hot glue and tinsel adheres to it very
well. Make a small circle with end of
purple tinsel. Glue it on top of the cone.
Wrap rest of the tinsel tightly around the
entire cone. Make sure each row is close
together, to avoid gaps on the cone. The
tinsel can be secured with hot glue. Press
the tinsel into the glue as it's wrapped the
around the cone. A purple rose can be
placed on top of the tree.
VALENTINE TREE #3
Don't remove the plastic from the cone.
Glue rose petals on the top of the cone
so that the tip is covered up. I glued
the rose petals upside down on the
cone until it was completely covered.
The pearls can be added on top of the
petals; it's optional. A red mum can be
on top of the tree.
TIPS:
**Bows can also be placed on top of the trees.
**The cones can also be wrapped with yard
or ribbon.
**The rose petals can also be enhanced with
tiny buttons or gems.
