SENIOR LADY: ST. PATRICK DECOR: REPURPOSE #2

I was happy with the results of my first St. Patrick's

Day craft. I discovered that I had plenty of yellow and

green unused items. I can do a second St. Patrick's

Day craft. I researched crafts done using the four

leaf clover.  I saw a few clover crafts, but, none of

them peaked my interest.  The religious three and

four leaf designs had Bible words and phrases. My

supply of letter stickers were sparse. My letter stencils

were old and outdated.  Most of the craft stores hadn't

fully  restocked their stationery letter supplies. The

holiday Crafters must have bought a lot of letter

stickers. Maybe I could draw religious symbols and

make templates.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY 3-LEAF CLOVER DOOR HANGER:

NEED:

Recycled Cardboard, 3 large pieces

3 Sheets, Yellow Construction Paper

3 Sheets Green Construction Paper

2 Sheets, White Heavy Weight Paper

Heart Templates:

(3) 6 Inches

(3) 5 Inches

Clover Leaf Stem Template (Optional)

Religious Symbols Templates:

2 1\2 Inch Royal Crown (GOD)

3 Inch Cross (JESUS)

2 1\2 Inch Dove ( HOLY SPIRIT)

1 Yellow Pipe Cleaner1 Green Pipe Cleaner

 ( For Hanger)

Green  Gems For Crown ( Optional)

TOOLS:

SCISSORS

GLUE GUN & GLUE STICKS

INSTRUCTIONS:

Draw or print out templates. Cut them out. Cut out

3 - 6 inch hearts from green paper. Cut out 3- 5 inch

hearts from yellow paper. Cut out the religious

symbols from white paper. Cut out 3- 6 inch hearts

from the cardboard. Optional: I drew 7 inch clover

stem free handed on scrap of green construction

paper.

Glue yellow heart in middle of green heart. Repeat

process until you have 3 green and yellow hearts.

Glue cardboard heart on the back of the green & yellow

hearts.  Let them dry completely. This will prevent

flimsy door hanger.  Lay the hearts down in 3 leaf

clover formation. Glue hearts together with globs of

glue. I also  cut piece of cardboard to fit the green

paper stem. Glue cardboard to back of paper stem.

Let  cardboard  & stem dry. Turn 3 leaf clover over.

Glue stem to back of 3 leaf clover, in the center with

green side facing the front. Press down firmly.

Glue a  religious symbol in the middle of each yellow

heart ( glue Crown on heart located in the center, glue

Cross on heart located on the left side, Dove on heart

 located on the right side).

I wanted to embellish the symbols,  but I was

out of green gems. I had glitter green pipe cleaners.

I cut 5 small pieces of green pipe cleaners. I rolled the

pieces into dots. I glued them onto the  points on the

crown. I added green dot to middle of Cross also. I

formed single small olive branch then glued it to

Dove's mouth. I formed 1 inch heart and glued it

to center  of 3 leaf clover.

Twist green and yellow pipe cleaners together.  Fold

them in half to form a hanger for 3 Leaf Clover. Twist

ends together. Glue hanger in back middle area of the

heart located  in the center of the 3 Leaf Clover. Press

down firmly. Add extra glue if necessary.  The 3 Leaf

Door Hanger is complete.

I made my St. Patrick's Day crafts  out of paper. These

crafts were economical and easy to make. The 3 Leaf

Clover craft did have a lot of steps. I did the cuts outs

first. These steps made this project easier to handle.

I was pleased with my 3 Leaf Clover Door Hanger

craft.

TIPS:

** I recycle cake mix boxes and non-stop corrugated

cardboard to.use in my projects.

**  Religious Words can be used on the 3 Leaf Clover

Door Hanger ( GOD, JESUS, HOLY SPIRIT' PRAY,

BLESSED, SAVED FOR EXAMPLE)

** Heavy weight scrapbook paper can be used to

make 3 Leaf Clover Door Hanger. Then cardboard

backing unnecessary.

**  Free online template 3 & 4 leaf clovers available.

I don't have a printer. So I just draw my templates.

I preferred using hearts to make the 3 Leaf Clover

Door Hanger.
