SENIOR LADY: ST. PATRICK DECOR REPURPOSE!

Years ago, I didn't celebrate St. Patrick's  Day.  Some

of my co-workers loved this holiday. The day after

St. Patrick's Day, they were sick from too much green

beer and Irish appetizers. I wasn't impressed with

this type of celebration.

Recently, I saw documentary about St. Patrick's Day.

The original celebration was religious. I was glad to

hear this. I will start doing religious decor for St.

Patrick's Day from now on. I decided to check

my unused craft supplies. I figured I might have

some green and yellow colored items. There were

enough supplies to use for St. Patrick's Day.

Need:

(2) Mini Green & White Checkered Bakery Boxes
Yellow Construction Paper
Green & Yellow Pipe Cleaners
Black Permanent Marker

Tools:

Scissors
Glue Gun & Glue Sticks

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut side tabs off boxes. Open up boxes so they
look like Crosses. Glue boxes to together, so
that green checks are visible on front & back.

Remove cling with religious phrase and glue it
in middle of Cross. Outline the words on cling
with the black marker. This makes words visible
 from a distance.

Cut out 1 inch × 4 inch rectangle from yellow
construction paper. Write the words, "BLESSED"
on the paper, with a black marker. Glue yellow
label underneath the cling.

Make hanger for the Cross: Twist green & yellow
pipe cleaners together. Fold them in half. Add
glob of glue to back, center of Cross ( near top).
Glue hanger to Cross. Press down hanger to
ensure it is snugly attached.

I enjoyed creating this Cross. The cost was economical

since I had most of the materials on hand. The Cross

was easy to create. Great craft for children and adults.

TIPS:

**  Use any size and color bakery box that's available.
My box was left over from Christmas. I glued two
boxes  together so Cross wouldn't be flimsy.

not available. I got clings from Dollar Store last yr.

** Cross can be sprayed with acrylic sealer if hanging
outside.
