SENIOR LADY: EASTER EGG CENTERPIECE!

My mother used to buy small chocolate crosses each

Easter holiday. This chocolate cross was sealed and

attached to a card with an Easter greeting. Each child

received one of these crosses in their Easter basket.

I carried on the tradition. My two boys received a

chocolate cross in their Easter basket. I explained

what the cross symbolized. I encouraged them to

save the cross and use it as a reminder to pray daily.

Of course, this  message was useless to them. Later,

I'd find the cross wrappings in the trash can. It looked

like my boys ate the chocolate crosses  up within a few

 days.

My boys are grown and live elsewhere. I have no

grand-children but I still buy the chocolate cross.

I prop it on my bedside table each Easter holiday.

This year I decided to include an extra chocolate

cross in my Easter decor. Unfortunately, my chocolate

cross was smaller this year.  I didn't get discouraged

so I still included it in my Easter project. Here is the

details for my Easter project:

EASTER EGG CENTERPIECE:

NEED:

1-SOLID CHOCOLATE CROSS ON EASTER CARD

1- BAG GREEN EASTER GRASS

12 +  COLORED PLASTIC EASTER EGGS

5-6 INCH PLASTIC CEREAL BOWL, PASTEL COLOR

RECYCLED NEWSPAPER, SHREDDED (OPTIONAL)

3-FAUX MINI WHITE CALA  LILY STEMS

7 INCH WHITE RIBBON

TOOLS:

GLUE GUN & GLUE STICKS

WIRE CUTTERS

SCISSORS

Glue Easter eggs together in a circle formation. 12

eggs needed  5 inch bowl;  13-14 eggs needed if have

6 inch bowl. Bowl can propped on the egg circle if they

don't fit inside the circle. Note: Different brands plastic

eggs range from 2 inches to 2.50 inches.

I filled my bowl halfway with crumbled newspaper.

Then I glued grass on top of the newspaper. I didn't

have full bags of green Easter grass. I glued the

Chocolate cross & Easter card on top of the grass.

I did have to nestle the cross/card inside the grass

in order for it to sit upright.

Trim the Cala lilies if necessary, so they fit the bowl.

Tie the lilies together with the ribbon and make a

small bow. I glued the bundled lilies on top of the

grass ( in front of the cross). The lilies would not

fall off of the bowl if it was moved to another

location. Now your decorated bowl is ready to

be placed on the Easter egg circle. The Easter

Egg Centerpiece is complete!

I'll be placing my Easter Egg Centerpiece in the

center of  my dining room table on Palm Sunday.

It'll stay there until Easter Monday.

This craft project was economical for me to

make because I had plenty of leftover Easter

eggs in various sizes on hand. I had leftover

faux mini Cala lilies from last year's Easter

project. I might keep this pretty decorated

Easter bowl in front of my family Bible in

my family room.

TIPS:

**Other mini faux flowers can be used if
Cala lilies not available.

**Newspaper filler unnecessary if you have
enough green Easter grass to fill your bowl.

**Mix and match this Easter centerpiece in
the colors you have on hand. All Easter
pastels will look great.
