SENIOR LADY: HEADBAND WIG GLAM!
I have been a wig wearer for many years.
I didn't care for my grey hair. I preferred
wigs in shades of Burgundy and Brown.
My problem was that wig wearing in
the summer made me hot.
I was looking at wigs online when I saw
several headband wigs. The attached
hair was various lengths and colors.
A lot of the attached headbands were
colors I didn't have in my wardrobe.
I also checked out headbands wigs
at the wigs stores. Most of the wigs'
caps were made with mesh, lace,
or had waffle weave design. They
didn't seem to have bulky hair sewed
on the wig caps. Wigs like this might
keep me from getting too hot. I did
purchase a headband with a black
headband. The idea of wearing a
plain black headband with all of
my outfits seemed boring.
Here are the details for my
Headband Wig Project:
ITEMS NEEDED:
Headband wig with black band
Wig T Pins, 2 inch
Multicolored Rhinestone/ Gem Stickers:
3-4 mm, Self-Adhesive
INSTRUCTIONS:
Place Headband wig on wig head. Secure wig
with T pins. Choose your design to place on the
plain black headband. I didn't have any chalk
on hand to draw a design. I chose to make
circles and squares free hand with my gems.
I had enough gems to mix shades of green, blue,
and purple. I mixed red and pink together too.
I decided to use gem stickers because they are
easy to remove. Using them gives me the option
of changing the design and color anytime that
I choose.
I was pleased with my design. My circles and
squares are not perfect; however, the head
band still looks pretty.
TIPS:
* Desire perfect hearts, flowers, or circles, draw
your design on headband with white fabric pen
or pencil. Then add your gems to the headband.
* Design can be embroidered on the band also.
Suggest colors that enhance any color outfit.
* Next time, I plan to use gold and silver
mirror gems. They were cheap at the
Dollar Store but expensive at some Craft
Stores. These colors are trendy and enhance
most outfits.
