SENIOR LADY: EASY DIY MOTHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS

I was visiting my local Dollar Store 2 weeks ago.

I was  hunting for new gem and crystal stickers,

to add to my collection. The addition of bling

to your DIY projects is a necessity.

This store had gotten  in a new feature. Lots of

art and craft  supplies were stacked  on the shelf.

Lovely unfinished stretched canvas pictures were

on display. I have never heard of this craft.  I decided

to get a few of these pictures. They may all be gone

next week. I will watch some online videos which

will help me learn how to paint on canvas.  I was

ready to experiment with the canvas painting after

I reviewed a few painted stretch canvas pictures.

Here are the details for my project:

INSTRUCTIONS:

I chose this image of this butterfly for inspiration.
It has most of my Mom's favorite colors. Acrylic
and oil paints are recommended for the stretch
canvas. However, my permanent markers worked fine. Unfortunately, some of the pastel colors on the
tops of my permanent makers didn't match. The marker colors  were darker shades so the colors on my canvas painting are not PASTEL COLORS!

I played around with colors & design to use on my painting. I made a dummy copy of the stretch canvas
picture. The stretch canvas picture I used: "Love"
theme. Here is my finished project:

I was pleased with how well my canvas painting

turned out. I'll start painting the other pictures

soon. Using acrylic paint on my other  stretch

canvas pictures is my future goal.

TIPS:

**If using permanent markers, suggests buy
new ones. I collect markers and mine were
more than 3 years old. This might be why
my marker colors weren't pastels. I had
extra color markers, on hand, since they
can dry out.

**Suggest testing maker colors on the back border
of the picture frame before you start painting.
This will ensure you get your desired shade.

** Use your own color combos. My picture
is for demonstration purpose only.

**The Dollar Stores had several cute stretch
canvas pictures to choose from. Most Mothers
would like them.
