SENIOR LADY: MOTHER'S DAY CORSAGE!

I loved viewing florist websites as a way to relax after

work. One day I saw a display of kissing balls. Some of

them were round, covered in flowers. A few were even

shaped like animals.  A lot of faux flower blooms,

foam, and  glue  were required. I was inspired by

the kissing ball crafts. I even made several for my

friend's tables for their rainbow tea parties.

A few years later, I lost interest in the kissing balls.

I saw designs for corsages to give as gifts to people

for birthdays, weddings, and proms. I discovered

that corsages were nice to wear for other occasions.

I could make corsages for my Mom and me to wear

 during the Easter holiday.

I thought that I might make corsages for the Mothers

at my church. I abandoned this idea because the names

on my list of Mothers grew to over twenty. I wouldn't

have enough time to get the corsages finished in time

for Mother's Day. I decided to just make corsages for

me and Mom to wear to church on Mother's Day.

MOTHER'S DAY CORSAGE PROJECT:

NEED:

2 Red Faux Flowers Stems

2 Yellow Faux Flower Stems

2 Purple Faux Flower Stems

1 Faux Baby's Breath Stem

1/8 inch Spools Matching Ribbon

10 Count Package White Lace Paper Doilies, 7.5 inches

1 Roll 1/2 inch Green Floral Tape

Tools:

Scissors

Wire cutters

Glue gun & Glue Sticks

Ruler

INSTRUCTIONS:

CORSAGE PREP:

Cut 2 flower stems, in each color, to 4 1/2 inches.

(2 red 4 1/2 inch stems, 2 yellow 4 1/2 inch stems,

2 purple 4 1/2 inch stems.) Cut 6 pieces of Baby's

Breath, 4 1/2 inches. Fold and cut  a doiliy in half.

Cut each half in to two pieces ( triangles). Cut each

color of matching ribbon in to 12 inches. Make a bow

for each corsage.

ASSEMBLY:

Arrange two red flowers stems & 2 pieces of baby's

breath in a design. Glue the bundle together. Add

a  red bow to front of the corsage with glue. Add

glue to center of the  doiliy. Place the corsage in

the center of the doiliy. Press it down firmly so

it adheres to the doiliy.

I enjoyed making these corsages for me and my

Mom.  We  should look pretty with the corsages

pinned to our outfits.

TIPS:

**Any color small  flowers will work for the corsages.

The corsage looks prettier if two variety of flowers of

 the same color are used.

**Ordered the Baby's Breath & ribbons online since

my local stores were out of stock.

** Using the Doiliy is optional. A doiliy half can

be folded accordion style before adding to corsage.

The doiliy half can be cut into triangle depending

on size of your flowers. Pieces of Lace or Tulle are

 options too.

**Attach corsage with corsage pin or large safety pin.

**Matching ribbon can be wrapped around the

corsage stems instead of green floral tape.
