SENIOR LADY: FALL DECOR IN PURPLE!

 

I love watching the trees in my yard change to fall colors.  I also have one of the City Nature Parks near

 my home. The leaves are just beginning to change to

yellow,red, and orange. 

This annual fall occurrence reminds me that it's 

time to work on my fall decor projects.  Last week

I was shopping at my favorite Dollar store. They had just restocked their traditional fall display section. It  had plenty of Fall flowers in  orange, red, and yellow colors. There was a second display of Fall decor in the front of the store. It had more faux Fall decor in lots of shades of lavender and purple. I didn't realize so many purple fall flowers existed! I grabbed a basket 

full of them. These purple fall flowers would be gone quickly when other Purple Lovers visit this store.

Here are details for my fall project:

PURPLE FALL FAUX FLOWERS  PROJECT:

NEED:

2, Lavender Maple Stems, 

2, Purple Dahlia Bush

2, Purple Heather Stems

2, Purple Fall Hydrangea Stems

2, Main Street Wallpaper Sheet:

 11 inch x 16 inch, Purple Butterfly Print

1, Spool, Purple Ribbon, 1\2 inch, 25 yards

1, Spool,  Green Floral tape, 1\2 inch

1, Purple Pipe Cleaner, 12 inches

Tools:

Glue Gun with Glue Sticks

Scissors

Flower Wire Cutters

INSTRUCTIONS:

Make cone shape using one of wallpaper sheets. Peel

off and cut enough paper adhesive to secure cone.Cut

5 inch triangle off 2nd wallpaper sheet. Peel off paper adhesive from triangle and fit it inside top portion of

cone. This triangle piece will cover up print on wall-

paper. 

Remove tags from stems.  Use wire cutters. if necessary

to trim ends of stems to fit inside of cone. Arrange the

flowers and leaves in desired style. Use floral tape to wrap & secure ends of stems. Place floral arrangement

inside the cone.  Make bow & glue it to front of the cone.

Use pipe cleaner to make a hanger for back of the cone.

Fold it in half and twist ends tightly. Use a glob of

glue on back of cone. Press hanger firmly onto the glue.

Now your Purple Cone Arrangement is ready to display

in your desired location.

This project was fun to do.  It didn't require a lot

of time. I might purchase another bundle of purple

faux Fall flowers to have on hand for next year. They

might not be available in the future.

TIPS:

**Purple Mums and Sunflowers, can be used if the featured flowers aren't available at local stores.

**  I didn't have purple ribbon on hand, so I recycled 

bow from old floral arrangement.

**  Any purple print designed wallpaper sheet will 

work. Heavyweight scrapbook paper can be used

for the flower cone.
